Pump.fun is a platform that has gained great notoriety in the crypto world. Built with the primary purpose of creating Solana based tokens, it has morphed into a haven of crypto debauchery.
The platform recently launched a livestream feature with the aim of fostering a more robust user experience and improving the quality of interactions.
This seemingly wholesome element has taken a dark turn, and has led many concerned members of the community to clamour for the suspension of the livestream feature.
From the Gen Z $QUANT scam, to animal and child abuse, and suicide threats, the livestream feature has facilitated a series of depraved actions by users of Pump.fun.
Through the livestream function, a user reportedly threatened to hang themselves to death if their token did not reach a certain market cap. Another user allegedly threatened to shoot their pet dog if their token did not hit a market cap of $1 million.
That’s not all, a couple also repeatedly hit their 3 year old child, promising to stop only when they meet their goal market cap. In addition, a 12 year old child threatened to take out his entire family with a shotgun.
All these events and more have led Pump.fun to make the decision to temporarily suspend the function, this however did not come without a hit to the platform’s revenue as they witnessed a dramatic decline of over 70% on November 23rd.
